Como ya sabéis, tuvimos un largo periodo de inactividad, aunque fue muy beneficio para la mente, descansar de tanta música, centrarnos en otros proyectos, hay que reconocer que teníamos muchas ganas de volver. Despertar a Doom In Aeternum. Lo hicimos el pasado mes de junio. Por fin os podemos traer carne fresca para el apartado de "entrevistas". Le enviamos unas cuantas preguntas a una agrupación de Lyon (Francia), y ellos respondieron encantados. Disfruta conociendo la mente de VESPERINE


Parece que 2022 está dejando atrás muchas cosas y a su vez reiniciando los motores para muchas personas. ¿VESPERINE tiene previsto para el resto del año alguna novedad?
- Actualmente estamos centrados principalmente en la creación de nuevos materiales, lo cual es muy importante para nosotros. Aparte de eso, también tenemos algunos buenos shows planeados, con bandas realmente buenas como Hexis o Sylvaine.

¿Qué significado tiene para vosotros la palabra “vesperine”?
- Vesperine es una gran parte de la vida de cada uno de nosotros. Es un proyecto realmente importante para cada uno, por lo que dedicamos mucho tiempo y energía para empujar los límites lo más lejos que podamos. Es el espacio que todos realmente necesitamos para expresar nuestra creatividad. Más que una banda de 5 integrantes, es la entidad resultante de la fusión de todos nosotros.

Pregunta para quién quiera responderla. Soy amante de la lectura y un desastre porque tengo montañas de libros por leer… a vosotros ¿os gusta leer? Novelas, cómics, etc… si es así ¿qué estáis leyendo en la actualidad?
- Muchos de nosotros también somos buenos lectores, con gustos diferentes. En este momento, se distribuye entre 'BUG vol. 2’, una gran novela gráfica de Enki Bilal y ‘Le pouvoir rhétorique’ de Clément Viktorovich.

“Espérer Sombrer” (2019) fue vuestro primer álbum. Cuáles fueron las principales ideas (pilares que forman la estructura) para la creación de vuestro disco debut.
- Nos gusta abordar los álbumes como un todo, con una línea clara como guía (al menos para nosotros, ya que también tratamos de no expresarlo de manera demasiado obvia) y no como una colección de canciones independientes. Para "Espérer Sombrer", estábamos interesados en mostrar cómo algunas cosas que generalmente se consideran negativas pueden, sin embargo, también brindar algún alivio. Por lo tanto, cada canción era una especie de mirada diferente sobre el mismo tema, dándole diferentes luces, ya sea a través de la letra o de la música.

¿Qué canción por su mensaje, crees que es perfecta para dejarla grabada en la mente de los oyentes?
- Con respecto a la respuesta anterior, nos es imposible elegir una canción u otra del álbum. Todas son una faceta del tema, por lo que incluso si no responde a la pregunta, sugerimos escuchar "Espérer Sombrer" en su totalidad, y luego los oyentes pueden sentirse más cercanas a cualquier punto de vista que describamos.

Para el futuro… ¿qué camino queréis que siga VESPERINE?
- Solo queremos seguir creando lo que nos apetece. Sobre todo, estamos profundamente apegados a la honestidad y la sinceridad, que son el único camino que queremos seguir. No hay voluntad de quedarse apegado a un estilo musical o a una influencia específica. Vesperine es definitivamente el resultado de 5 hombres que pasan mucho tiempo discutiendo, confrontando ideas y tratando de ilustrarlas a través de material musical.

¿Qué tendría que tener un siguiente disco para ser la evolución de “Espérer Sombrer”?
- La única coherencia vendrá del hecho de que habremos utilizado el mismo proceso de creación: explorar un tema y escribir todos juntos la mejor música que tengamos ganas de plasmar. Excepto por eso, probablemente no deberías esperar demasiado un ‘Espérer Sombrer, vol. 2'. Exploramos una idea con "Espérer Sombrer", nos sentimos muy orgullosos, pero el tema de nuestro próximo álbum será diferente y, por lo tanto, también la música.

Cada persona tiene opiniones y gustos diferentes. Hablando de directos, es evidentemente que una banda quiere tocar en un gran número de conciertos. Y aquí viene mi pregunta; ¿Prefieres en un festival (da igual el tamaño del cartel) o en una sala de conciertos?
- Como dijiste, todos tenemos gustos diferentes, y algunos de nosotros incluso preferimos el proceso de creación que reproducir después el resultado en directo. Pero a medida que se trata de tocar en vivo, realmente no nos importa el escenario, el lugar o sus tamaños. Realmente apreciamos los lugares íntimos, ya que nuestro espectáculo de luces probablemente sea más relevante en estas condiciones, pero también disfrutamos tocar en festivales. De todos modos, lo único que le importa a Vesperine es que siempre ponemos la misma energía en cualquier espectáculo. Efectivamente, tocar para más de 200 personas te da una bonita sensación, pero no importa si hay menos gente, merecen el mismo espectáculo y respeto.

¿Crees que la personalidad de cada uno de vosotros influye en lo que aportáis en el sonido de VESPERINE?
- Obviamente. Vesperine definitivamente no es un "proyecto de un solo hombre", sino el resultado de un profundo proceso de colaboración entre nosotros cinco. Esto puede ser frustrante, ya que a veces lleva mucho tiempo crear y luego ponerse de acuerdo sobre la música, pero creemos que eso es lo que la enriquece. Cada segundo de nuestra música está trabajada y reelaborada una y otra vez. Cada uno de nosotros tiene derecho a dejarlo en suspenso hasta que todos estemos de acuerdo con la versión definitiva, y ese proceso claramente sucede de acuerdo con cada uno de nuestros gustos y percepciones individuales.

Antes de finalizar nos gustaría daros las gracias por usar un trozo de vuestro tiempo en contestar la entrevista. Sería genial que dedicarais unas palabras a vuestros seguidores.
- Nos gustaría agradecerles a todos por su tiempo y su curiosidad en nuestra música. Nos sentimos agradecidos de que le den la bienvenida a nuestro viaje personal en la creación musical, y esperamos que el próximo material le brinde algunas sorpresas y buenos momentos. As you know, we had a long period of inactivity, although it was very beneficial for the mind to rest from so much music, to focus on other projects, we must admit that we really wanted to return. We did it last June. Finally we can bring you fresh meat for the "interviews" section. We sent a few questions to a band in Lyon (France) and they responded with energy. Enjoy knowing the mind of VESPERINE.

2022 is leaving a lot behind and in turn restarting the engines for a lot of people. Does VESPERINE have any news planned for the rest of the year?
- We are currently mostly focusing on creating new materials, which is really important to us. Apart from that, we also have a few nice shows planned, with real nice bands such as Hexis or Sylvaine.

What is the meaning of VESPERINE for you?
- Vesperine is a large part of each of us lifes. It is a really important project for each of us, for which we dedicate a lot of time and energy to push limits as far as we can. It is the space we all truly need to express our creativity. More than a 5 piece band, it’s the entity resulting from the merging of all of us.

Question for who wants to answer it. I am a lover of reading and a disaster because I have mountains of books to read... do you like to read? Novels, comics, etc... if so, what are you currently reading?
- Many of us are good readers too, with different tastes. Right now, it is spread between ‘BUG vol. 2’, a great graphic novel from Enki Bilal and ‘Le pouvoir rhétorique’ from Clément Viktorovich.

"Espérer Sombrer" (2019) was your first album. What were the main ideas (pillars that form the structure) for the creation of your debut album.
- We like approaching albums as a whole, with a clear guiding line (at least for us, as we also try not to express it too obviously) and not as a collection of independant songs. For Espérer Sombrer, we were interested in showing how some things usually negatively considered can nevertheless also provide some relief. Therefore, each song was sort of a different regard on that same topic, giving different lights on it, whether through lyrics or through music.

What song, because of its message, do you think is perfect to leave it engraved in the minds of listeners?
- Regarding the response above, it is impossible for us to choose one song or the other from the album. They all are a facet of the topic, so even if it does not answer the question, we suggest listening to Espérer Sombrer as a whole, and then people are free to feel closer to any view we depicted.

For the future... what path do you want VESPERINE to follow?
- We just want to keep creating what we feel like. Most of all, we are deeply attached to honesty and sincerity, which are the only path we want to follow. There is no willingness to keep stuck to one music style, or to one unique influence. Vesperine is definitely the result of 5 men spending a lot of time discussing, confronting ideas and trying to illustrate them through music material.

What would a next album have to have to be the evolution of "Espérer Sombrer"? - The only consistency will come from the fact we will have used the same creation process: exploring a topic and writing all together the music we feel like illustrating it best. Except for that, you probably should not expect an ‘Espérer Sombrer, vol. 2’ too much. We explored one topic with Espérer Sombrer, we feel really proud of, but our next album’s topic will be different and therefore also the music.

Each person has different opinions and tastes. Speaking of live, it is evident that a band wants to play in a large number of concerts. And here comes my question; Do you prefer at a festival (regardless of the size of the poster) or in a concert hall?
- As you said, we all have different tastes, and some of us even prefer the creating process than playing the result live afterwards. But as playing live comes, we don’t really care about the stage, venue or their sizes. We really appreciate intimate venues, as our light show probably is more relevant in these conditions, but we also really enjoy playing in festivals. Anyway, the only thing that matters to Vesperine is that we always put the same energy in any show. Indeed, playing for 200 people and more gives you a nice feeling, but it does not matter if there are fewer people here, they deserve the same show and respect.

Do you think that the personality of each one of you influences what you bring to the sound of VESPERINE?
- Obviously. Vesperine is definitely no ‘one man project’ but the result of a deep collaboration process between us five. This might be frustrating as it sometimes takes a lot of time to create and then agree on the music, but we feel like that’s what makes it richer. Each second of our music is worked and reworked. Each of us has a right to put it on hold until we all agree on the definitive version, and that process clearly happens according to each of our individual tastes and perceptions.
